A paleontologist is giving people the chance to see where their hometown was located throughout 750 million years of continental drift. Ian Webster told CNN he created the online map so people can see how the environment is dynamic and can change. His 3D model of the globe allows users to search specific modern day locations, and even see what dinosaurs used to live nearby. Webster says the interactive map contains fun surprises such as showing how the U.S. used to be split by a shallow area.
