He turned down the role of Captain Von Trapp in The Sound Of Music.. but his prolific career included everything from the Ingmar Bergman film The Seventh Seal, to Ming The Merciless in Flash Gordon. Max Von Sydow has died at the age of 90. He also portrayed Father Merrin in The Exorcist (video has some nsfw language, be advised!) and the Three-Eyed Raven in Game Of Thrones.
