(New York, NY) -- New York City now has a road named after Sesame Street to honor the iconic show's 50th anniversary. Mayor Bill de Blasio, Big Bird and a cast of characters were on hand on the Upper West Side yesterday where they renamed West 63rd by Broadway, Sesame Street. Mayor de Blasio says for five decades the show helped children believe in themselves and helped the country know how much could be achieved educating children in their early years. Sesame Street has been filmed at Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens since the early 1990s.
