WOODSTOCK 50: Has Found A New Investor

The drama surrounding Woodstock 50 continues, but it looks like the show may actually go on as organizers have promised. The team behind the three-day festival just announced they’ve lined up a new financial backer, Oppenheimer & Co., to replace Dentsu, who backed out and attempted to cancel the festival.

As we previously told you, a judge last week sided with Woodstock founders' argument that Dentsu didn’t have the right to cancel the festival, but the judge did not order the investors to return the $18 million the founders claim they stole.

Even through all the drama, promoter Michael Lang always insisted the festival would continue. "We look forward to putting on an incredible festival,” he says. “Words cannot express how appreciative Woodstock 50, the artists, the fans and the community are to Oppenheimer for joining with us to make W50 a reality."

Woodstock 50 is scheduled to take place August 16thto 18th in Watkins Glen, New York, featuringJay-Z, the Killers, Imagine Dragons, Chance the Rapper, The Raconteurs, Robert Plant and the Sensational Shapshifters,Halsey,Miley Cyrus,Dead & Company, Greta Van Fleet, Sturgill Simpson, Brandi Carlileand more. So far there’s no word on when tickets will go on sale.
