(Washington, DC) -- It'll soon be easier for some to track their heart health at home. Fitbit plans to roll out a feature to do just that after getting FDA approval. The technology will continually monitor for AFib, which is a form of irregular heart rhythm. It affects about 33-million people and those who have it, are more at risk of having a stroke. Sensors can detect volume changes from a user's wrist, even when asleep, and alert if there are any signs of AFib. Apple Watch has a similar feature.
