DURAN DURAN: Scary New Album Coming Out In October

Duran Duran will release their new album Danse Macabre on October 27th.

The first single from the spooky-themed album is the title track, which is on YouTube now. The album was inspired by the band's 2022 Halloween show in Las Vegas and mixes three new songs with covers and reworkings of songs from their catalog.

The remakes include "Night Boat" from their debut album, the "Secret Oktober 31st," which was the b-side to "Union of the Snake," "Love Voudou" from The Wedding Album, and Rio’s "Lonely in Your Nightmare," which is mashed up with a cover of Rick James’ "Super Freak" for a song called "Super Lonely Freak."

The covers include "Bury A Friend" from Billie Eilish, "Ghost Town" from The Specials, "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones and "Psycho Killer" from Talking Heads cover.

Perhaps the biggest news for longtime Duranies is that not only does original guitarist Andy Taylor play on many songs, his replacement Warren Cuccurullo appears on two tracks and Nile Rodgers adds guitar too. It's the first time since 1986's Notorious that all three guitarists have played on a Duran Duran album. Maneskin bassist Victoria De Angelis also makes a guest appearance on the "Psycho Killer" cover.
