ACHD Issues Stay-At-Home "Advisory"

Allegheny County Health Department's Dr. Bogen has asked all residents to stay-at-home and only leave for work, school, or other essential needs. They have also asked for residents to 'stop social gatherings' and 'not have guests in your homes.'

While this is not currently an official order, the Health Department believes this is essential to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the county. If cases continue to increase then this can be turned into an order, which can be enforced.

Dr. Bogen is concerned about the county's hospital systems becoming stressed, and not having enough healthcare workers should the number of cases continue to rise.

'Wear your masks and stay distant' - Rich Fitzgerald

“For the past few weeks, I’ve asked people to follow the rules, curtail gatherings and parties, stay home except for essentials, and wear masks. I’m done asking and today, I’m telling you that these are things we must all do to bring down the level of spread and keep our community safe,” - Dr. Bogen
