For those who didn't know Paul McCartney could play the trumpet, now we know.
The former Beatle performed on the instrument during the rousing all-star finale of Saturday's live-streamed fundraiser for the Preservation Hall Foundation in New Orleans.
It came near the end of the four-and-a-half hour event and featured many of the evening's other stars, including Beck, Dave Matthews, Arcade Fire, Alabama Shakes, Corinne Bailey Rae, Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Jim James, PJ Morton, Nathaniel Rateliff and Irma Thomas. A number of the performances, including one by the late the Sharon Jones, were archival, but many others were live. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band accompanied Beck, Matthews, Arcade Fire and Thomas on their archival performances.
The entire event is archived on Preservation Hall Jazz Band's Facebook page. "When the Saints Go Marching In" is also on YouTube.
The live-stream raised over $30,000 for the Foundation.
