Chef Matt Jozwiak has been feeding as many as 10-thousand New Yorkers a week with his nonprofit Rethink Food, which uses excess food from restaurants to make meals for those in need. And now he’s expanding operations to feed healthcare workers using food trucks.
Rethink’s first food truck will be hitting the streets this week, delivering 500 free meals a day to hospital employees. They plan to add more food trucks and serve more medical workers at hospitals around New York City.
“We want to look back and say we did everything we could,” Jozwiak explains.
