“Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot got a bunch of celebrities to sing “Imagine” and the viral video has helped the John Lennon classic return to the rock charts. The song has re-entered this week’s “Billboard” Hot Rock Songs chart, landing at 15.
Because of the viral video, Lennon’s original song saw a 7% increase in streams to 1.3 million. In addition its downloads were up 138% to 1,000.
Another classic song that continues to climbup the rock chart thanks to the coronavirus is R.E.M.’s “It’s The End of the World As We Know It.” This week the song lands at four on the Hot Rock Songs chart, its best charting yet. When it originally came out 33 years ago it peaked at 69 on the Hot 100 and 13 on the Mainstream Rock Charts.
