The Pa Department of Health held their daily update at 2pm. Notes the broadcast are below. You can watch the full press conference HERE.

Dr. Levine:

  • There have been confirmed cases in 50 counties of Pennsylvania.
  • 241 Pennsylvanians have needed hospitalization since March 6th.
    • That is about 10% of people who have tested positive.
    • Seventy-six of the total cases have required treatment in an ICU—approximately 3-4%.
    • Forty-four of those in the ICU has required the use of a ventilator—approximately 2%
  • Tragically we've had 22 deaths due to COVID-19.

  • Thank you for practicing social distancing.
  • It is critical to continue to practice social distancing to mitigate the spread of COVID19.
  • If you're sick at home, please monitor your symptoms carefully. If you notice any significant changes in your symptoms, please call your doctor. If you are in an emergency, call 911.
  • If you're having a mental crisis, please text PA to '741741'.
  • At this time, the state has adequate stock to continue testing protocols.
  • At this point, the state will no longer be tracing contacts of a positive patient due to the current community spread.

The Pa Dept. of Health shared updated COVID-19 numbers for the state. As of this morning, there are an additional 531 positive cases. That brings the total count in PA to 2,218.

Seven more deaths have been reported, bringing the total to twenty-two.

21,016 patients have bested negative.

Breakdown of cases in Western PA:

  • Allegheny: 158
  • Fayette: 9
  • Washington: 14
  • Beaver: 14
  • Butler: 26
  • Lawrence: 4
  • Westmoreland: 30
  • Mercer: 4
  • Greene: 4
  • Armstrong: 1
  • Indiana: 2

Allegheny County Health Department shared updated case numbers of COVID-19. As of this morning, there are 158 positive cases in the county, with 25 people requiring hospitalization. Only two deaths have been reported. See their graphic below for age and gender breakdowns.

"The department is still tracing the contacts of people who have tested positive and is recommending self-quarantine when needed. We strongly urge all people in Allegheny County to stay at home to slow the spread of the virus in our community."
