Green Day Donate $2,000 To Pay For Denny's Viral Punk Show Damages

Last week a punk rock show at a Denny's in Santa Ana, California made headlines when a video of Wacko, one of the five bands on the bill, went viral for its raucous mosh pit while the group rocked out on top of the restaurant's tables and light fixtures swung violently overhead. Unfortunately for Bryson Del Valle, the 17-year-old promoter who put on the show, the diner slapped him with a hefty bill to pay for damages to the lighting and furniture.

Wacko started a GoFundMe to help Del Valle out, stating that Denny's charged them around $1,000, but when it looked like the price was going to be more like $2,000, the teenager started a GoFundMe of his own and received a generous donation from none other than Green Day.

Not only did the trio front the whole bill, giving $2,000 to the cause, but they also wrote a note suggesting that they'd like to play one of Del Valle's future shows. “Hey Bryson call us!” the note read. “We wanna play the Bastards Club. Love, Green Day.”

Green Day are gearing up to release their 13th studio album Father of All...on February 9, 2020, and then plan to embark on the Hella Mega Tour— a massive stadium tour with Weezer and Fall Out Boy— over the summer. Tickets to the tour are available now.
