An eagle eyed Google Earth viewer has solved a decades long missing persons case.
The body of a Florida man missing for more than two decades has been recovered thanks to Google Earth. A Lake Worth resident, skimming over neighborhood images on Google Earth, noticed a submerged vehicle in a nearby pond. That vehicle, police say, was a 1994 Saturn SL carrying the skeletal remains of 40-year-old William Earl Moldt.
Moldt disappeared in late 1997 after leaving a nightclub. Police do not known how the car ended up in the pond, and are still investigating. The sad thing is, the images have been "plainly visible" in the Google Earth area photos since at least 2007. Its just no one noticed.
