With El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio reeling from mass shootings this weekend, you may feel the need to help.
The good news is…you can. You may be far away from these two cities, but donating blood is a great way to show solidarity while helping your own community. If you live in an area served by Vitalant, you can head to their site to set up an appointment and as always, the American Red Cross is taking donations.
Another way you can assist is donate to the online fund the El Paso Community Foundation has set up for those impacted by the shooting. There will be several crowd funding sites set up in the coming days for victims in both cities, just remember to vet any organization you want to send money to.
The outpouring of support has been inspiring. The funerals of the victims will be paid for by the homes and Operation Hope. Blood donation lines in El Paso have been massive since the tragedy and Lyft is offering free rides to blood donation centers.
