STEELERS: ‘Disappointed’ Le’Veon Bell Did Not Show Up To Practice

posted by Jonny Hartwell -

Le’Veon Bell was not present for the start of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first official practice of the 2018 season yesterday, and it seems like the team was actually surprised by his decision to not show up for once.

I mean the Steelers are used to Bell skipping preseason and training camp by now but—with the season starting on Sunday for Pittsburgh—he’s now missing practice.

Which explains this candid statement from Steelers GM Kevin Colbert:

“We are disappointed Le’Veon Bell has not signed his franchise tender and rejoined his teammates. (We) will continue to focus on preparing the players on our roster for our regular season opener Sunday against the Browns.”

There was a report last week that Bell was planning to rejoin the Steelers yesterday, but he quickly shot that down on Twitter saying:

“Don’t believe the fake news, I never said anything to no one...”

With, less than a week to go until the Steelers kick off their season against the Cleveland Browns, you can understand why the team would have hoped he would end the holdout by this point.
