A girl left hanging onto a tree for her life is thankful for the actions of a Lake County, Florida deputy.
A 15-year-old girl was chased by an alligator last week and she had to climb a tree to escape. She climbed the tree after getting out of the water as gators noticed her. Her mom called 911 while the gator waited at the base of the tree for the girl to come down. The mother screamed into the phone "My daughter's stuck in a frickin' tree and there's gators surrounding her. We can't get her out."
About half-an-hour later, Deputy Mitch Blackmon showed up, and when the gator wasn't scared off and instead started walking towards him, the deputy shot and killed it.
