NFL DRAFT: Top 5 Biggest Draft Busts in the Last 15 Years

The NFL Draft is now over, which means there are hundreds of new players getting ready to show their skills to their new teams.

The draft experts mostly put a positive spin on these players and rarely point out their faults. But everyone knows that a lot of these players -- if not most of them -- are going to wash out and prove to be not very good.

With that in mind, here’s a rundown of the biggest NFL Draft busts over the last 15 years:

5. Quarterback Vince Young -- Picked third overall in 2006, Young flamed out after his first season and ended up getting cut from different NFL teams through the years, and even a team in the Canadian Football League.

4. Quarterback Robert Griffin III -- Tough one because RG3 won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but it was all downhill from there. A bunch of injuries slowed him down and he’s now fighting to make an NFL roster.

3. Offensive Tackle Jason Smith -- He was the second overall pick by the St. Louis Rams in 2009 and only started for one season. You kinda need more production than that out of your high draft pick if you’re going to be successful.

2. Wide Receiver Charles Rogers -- The Detroit Lions picked Rogers number two overall and he rewarded them by playing in only 15 games and getting popped for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

1. Quarterback JaMarcus Russell -- Arguably the biggest draft bust of all time, Russell was picked first overall by the Oakland Raiders because he looked superhuman. He was a 6-foot-6, 260-pound, "can't-miss prospect." Except … he missed. He was horrible and it took the Raiders years to recover from the draft blunder and get their team back on track.

Other notables include quarterback Johnny Manziel and running back Trent Richardson. They looked great in college, had all sorts of hype coming out of college, and then just flat out couldn’t play in the pros.
