PARROTHEADS: Run Outta Booze on Broadway?

It’s no secret that Jimmy Buffett fans like to party, and while that’s a common practice at a Jimmy concert, apparently it is also one at his Broadway show.

Buffett’s “Escape to Margaritaville” began previews at the Marquis Theater on Friday, and it seems Parrotheads were imbibing so much the theater ran out of booze, specifically an ingredient used for Margaritas.

“(The show) was sold out and there were, as expected, many Parrotheads in the audience,” a source tells the “New York Daily News.” “But the house did not expect to run out of Triple Sec, thus having to cut off Margarita sales.”

Not that that stopped the audience. It seems fans gladly drank whatever the bar still had in stock. Parrotheads were drinking so much, the Nederlander Organization says the opening preview was “the largest one night bar sale in their history.”

“Escape to Margaritaville” officially opens March 15th.
