OJ SIMPSON: Returning to the Movies; Internet Erupts!

Sacha Baron Cohen is no stranger to controversy, and it looks like he stepped in a doozy this time. In case you missed it, he reportedly gave OJ Simpson $20-thousand dollars to appear in his new film – much to the chagrin of the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson

According to a production source, Cohen – best known for disguising himself to fool the unsuspecting – wore a wig and thick-rimmed glasses to meet Simpson in a Las Vegas hotel room. OJ wouldn’t agree to come in the room until he was paid “a sackload of cash.” Cohen’s rep couldn’t be reached. OJ said that he knew Sacha, but didn’t confirm a payment.

Still, just reports of such a payment prompted outrage. Tanya Brown – Nicole’s sister – said, “Nicole and Ron are two human beings who were brutally murdered. This is not a joke, nor is it entertainment.” David Cook, the collections lawyer who works for Fred Goldman, said that any money OJ gets should be used to pay his civil-judgment debt (which at last tally is more that $70-million with interest). And social media has erupted, too.
