CHRISTINE McVIE: What Fueled Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours"?

Fleetwood Mac took part in both drugs and rock n' roll and it turns out they might owe their most successful album to their hard partying ways. According to Christine McVie, "Rumours" was written and recorded thanks to drugs and booze.

"I don't know if I would have written 'Songbird' had I not had a couple of toots of cocaine and a half bottle of champagne and I just couldn't sleep," McVie remembers, "or written any of the songs that were on that album because I think we were all pretty loaded."
