These days a lot of people pick their vacation destinations based on the food in the area, and when it comes to the U.S., the best state for that is open for debate. Some people may think New York is the best destination because of all the high quality restaurants they have, or maybe Memphis for all that yummy barbecue, but are those really the best choices out there?
Well, Thrillist has decided to rank every state in the country based on their food, and the state topping the list may totally surprise you. Believe it or not, they have chosen California as the best state for food, mainly due to its diversity, noting it’s “like an entire galaxy of food spread over an entire state.” It also gets high marks for having a number of hot food cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego, not to mention great restaurants in the wine country.
