BOB DYLAN: Pays Tribute to Tom Petty Covering "Learning to Fly"

Bob Dylan paid tribute to Tom Petty at his show in Colorado over the weekend by playing a cover of the Petty classic “Learning to Fly.”

Dylan and Petty were, of course, in Traveling Wilburys together, along with the late Roy Orbison and the late George Harrison. When news hit of Tom’s death Dylan said in a statement, “I thought the world of Tom. He was great performer, full of the light, a friend, and I’ll never forget him.”Check out Dylan’s tribute to the right.

ONE MORE THING! Dylan’s performance wasn’t the only tribute to Petty this weekend. On Friday, which would have been Tom’s 67thbirthday, a group of fans gathered together for a “Vampire Walk” in the San Fernando Valley, paying homage to the famous line in Petty’s “Free Fallin,’” “All the vampires walking through the valley move west down Ventura Boulevard.”
