LINDA HAMILTON: To Return As Sarah Conner In Terminator Sequel

If you thought the “Terminator” sequels were missing something, you’ll be thrilled to know that Linda Hamilton has signed on to return to the role of Sarah Conner in the next installment of the "Terminator" franchise. “The Hollywood Reporter” is exclusively reporting that she'll be back with James Cameron in charge for what's being billed as a direct sequel to the 1991 blockbuster "Terminator 2: Judgment Day."

Of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back, too. Cameron announced the return noting how meaningful Hamilton was to gender and action stars two and a half decades ago. Tim Miller, of "Deadpool" movie fame, will be in the director's chair.

Cameron said the story will focus on new characters with Hamilton and Schwarzenegger there to anchor it. "As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then,” he added. “It’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return. There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys, but there isn’t an example of that for women.”

  • ONE MORE THING! It bears mentioning that both Hamilton and Cameron were married to each other in the later 1990s, and that once they split, they both skipped out on the sequels that rolled out in 2003, 2009 and 2015. Cameron famously cheated on Hamilton with "Titanic" actress Suzy Amis and as a result, he and Hamilton split in 1999. A year later, Cameron took Amis as his fifth wife - they're still together.
