PATRIOTS: Key Player Out for the Season

Another weekend of meaningless preseason games…and another Monday of meaningful season ending injuries to report.

Add Kansas City number one running back Spencer WareChicago Bears number one wide receiver Cameron Meredith and Patriots wide receiver who wears double one’s—Julian Edelman—to the list of torn knee ligaments.

An MRI on Saturday revealed that Edelman indeed suffered an ACL tear in his right knee during Friday's preseason win over the Lions, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. The Patriots confirmed their Super Bowl hero will miss the 2017 season.

And while Edelman’s was of the non-contact variety—which are becoming more and more common—Meredith’s was the old fashioned multiple contact.

Which is why his left knee went in multiple directions in yesterday game against the Titans and sent him to the locker room with what most believe is a season ending ACL tear.
