If Prince was known for one thing besides his music it was the color purple, and he’s finally getting his own shade of the glorious color.
The Pantone Color institute has teamed with Prince's estate to honor the singer with his own hue of purple, named “Love Symbol #2” after his trademark symbol. According to a press released, “Love Symbol #2, was “inspired by his custom-made Yamaha purple piano.”
“We are honored to have worked on the development of Love Symbol #2, a distinctive new purple shade created in memory of Prince, ‘the purple one,’” the Pantone Color Institute says. “Long associated with the purple family, Love Symbol #2 enables Prince’s unique purple shade to be consistently replicated and maintain the same iconic status as the man himself.” Check out the shade of purple here.
