DIRTY DANCING: ABC's Re-Make is Savaged on Twitter

Someone at ABC-TV had the brilliant idea to remake Dirty Dancing, the hit 1987 film, into a three-hour filmed musical event. They aimed to add a new perspective by giving the characters more depth and delving deeper into social issues, such as race, women's rights and economic division.

Despite those lofty goals -- or maybe because of them -- the movie was savaged on Twitter. (Just Jared)

Here's a taste of the tweets:

@tararosenbaum YOU CHANGED THE STORY. YOU ARE DEAD TO ME. #DirtyDancing

@Paper_Heart_Jen Raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimized by watching this #DirtyDancing remake?

@BrianaLeeRyan The remake of 'Dirty Dancing' is the most traumatizing thing I have witnessed since Election Night '16. #DirtyDancing #LeaveClassicsAlone

@MorganxLeanne I don't know what's worse: the acting, the dancing, the lack of chemistry, or the horrible renditions of iconic songs. #DirtyDancing
