ERIC CLAPTON: Pays Tribute to the Late John Wetton of Asia

Eric Clapton has paid tribute to the late Asia singer and bassist John Wetton with an acoustic guitar performance of what appears to be the jazz standard "How High the Moon," which he posted on his Facebook page.

Like Clapton, Wetton, who died Tuesday morning from cancer, had his battles with alcohol, but he'd been sober for the last 11 years. And like Clapton, he volunteered his time in fellowship with other alcoholics to share his experience, strength and hope with them.

Wetton, 67, is survived by his recently wed wife Lisa, 18-year-old son Dylan, brother Robert and mother Peggy.

The very last studio song of Wetton’s career was "Till We Meet Again," the closing track on the most recent Asia album, Gravitas, which included the profound lyrics, “Think the best of me, till we meet again.”

Also paying tribute to Wetton is Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, who says, "RIP John Wetton. A legend and a friend. It was an honor to know him and work with him."
