Nova Place  ·

A little wine is thought to be good for the heart. On March 7, it will also be good for the soul when Sisters Place, a supportive housing community in Clairton, PA, hosts its 17th Annual Crushed Grapes Wine Tasting at Nova Place on Pittsburgh’s Northside on Thursday, March 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Crushed Grapes features fine wine, craft beer, hors d’oeuvres from a variety of local restaurants, live music, and a silent auction.

“For 17 years, Crushed Grapes has brought the area’s finest wine and food together for an incredible evening with a meaningful mission,” said Melissa Ferraro, Executive Director of Sisters Place. “This event is critical to our mission of supporting homeless families. We are grateful for the support from local businesses and our guests.”

Dozens of local restaurants will be serving samples, including Bar Marco, Contreras Cake Co., Cop Out Pierogies, Jena Cole Cupcakes, Ligo Farms, Pennsylvania Macaroni Company, The Vandal, and more. Food stations will be expertly paired with a vast selection of wine varietals, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet. Local wine expert Cory Hart will be on hand to help guests navigate the array of featured wines, and Vecenie Distributing Company, Western PA’s premier craft beer provider, will serve beer.

Local jazz musician Kenny Blake will entertain guests while they eat, drink, and bid on silent auction packages, which will feature gift certificates, event tickets, hotel stays, original artwork, golf outings, and more.

General admission tickets are available for $65 in advance and $75 at the door. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $100.
