MARK CUBAN: Stops Playing National Anthem Before Maverick Games

Wow—I am starting to think Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is actually, well, Cuban.

I mean it would make sense after ESPN reported yesterday that—at his direction—his Mavericks have stopped playing the national anthem before home games.

Couple that with the fact that he has no plans to resume the tradition of playing it before games in the future and that seems less the actions of a resident of the state of Texas and more the actions of a resident of the Marxist–Leninist socialist state that is Cuba.

Cuban, who declined further comment, made the decision after consulting with NBA commissioner Adam Silver. The Mavericks did not announce the change in policy, but the national anthem has not been played before any of their 13 preseason and regular-season games at the American Airlines Center this season.

Cuban expressed support for players kneeling during the national anthem as a form of protest back in June saying"If they were taking a knee and they were being respectful, I'd be proud of them. Hopefully I'd join them."

Seems like he rather tell the anthem to beat it than join them.
