Passion. Depth. Flair. The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra dives into the lush melodies of Russia’s most famous composers. Making his highly anticipated PSO debut, Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado brings a distinctly Spanish flavor to Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnol, while also exploring Tchaikovsky’s folkloric Symphony No. 1 “Winter Dreams.” This weekend also sees the return of cellist phenom, Maximilian Hornung, who dazzled Pittsburgh’s audiences in his 2017 debut. Hornung brings his technical brilliance to the forefront as he performs Shostakovich’s fiery Cello Concerto No. 1.
