GEDDY LEE: On Why There’s No Unreleased Rush Music

Don’t expect Rush to follow the lead of artists like Neil Young and Van Halen sharing unreleased material. In a new interview, Geddy Lee says that’s because they have “nothing left” in the vault.

Well, when he says “nothing,” he means finished songs. Speaking to “Rolling Stone” magazine, the bassist says there may be some “half-finished demos somewhere” that they decided to scrap, but other than that Rush isn’t sitting on unreleased material.

“Sometimes you come in the next day, and Alex [Lifeson] and I would be working on a demo, and we’d just trash it,” he explains. “We didn’t record anything and then at the end say, ‘No, that doesn’t make it onto the record.’ Those things don’t exist at all.”
