OPERATION AMERICA STRONG: Air Shows Will Honor Healthcare Heroes

The United States Pentagon plans several flyovers by the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds to recognize frontline healthcare workers.

Joint air shows are scheduled for New York City, Atlanta, Houston and Austin, Philadelphia, Newark, Baltimore and Washington D.C. The Blue Angels and Thunderbirds will fly separately in several more cities.

President Donald Trump announced “Operation America Strong” at Wednesday’s press briefing. A senior military officer told The Washington Post, (quote) “This is just a sincere thank you. It’s one way to acknowledge those who are pitching in.”

Coinciding with Air Force Academy graduation last weekend, the Thunderbirds flew over Colorado hospitals.

Because health officials discourage large gatherings, the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds will conduct a flyover minus stunts. Residents are encouraged to watch from their porch, driveway or balcony.
