With the bitter cold hitting most of us these days, we’re probably all dreaming of escaping to a warm weather vacation spot, and having everything taken care of in an all-inclusive resort probably sounds like the best thing ever. Well, apparently, our neighbors to the north have similar tastes.

According to a new Travelocity poll, the majority of Canadians, 65 percent, say they prefer an all-inclusive beach vacation because they are relaxing, with 34 percent of Canucks having taken one on the past. There’s no doubt that there are certain benefits to an all-inclusive. 45 percent of respondents say such resorts make them feel like they are at an “adult camp,” while 33 percent admit they never leave the property, although 25 percent feel they should be out exploring or trying something new.

Still, 56 percent of Canadians say they would prefer a different type of getaway, with 27 percent feeling as though they are missing out on an authentic local experience if they’re locked away in an all-inclusive resort.

Meanwhile, with Americans heading to places like Florida, the Caribbean and Hawaii to escape the cold, our Canadian friends’ top choices include Mexico, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Jamaica and Costa Rica.
